What you are cracking

A wax crack ball is a ball of soft clay dipped in melted wax again and again until it wears a hard, glossy shell. Squeeze it and the shell gives way with a crunch, then the pieces peel off in flakes that show every layer on their broken edge.

This ball has a lilac clay core under three layers of wax. Every new ball cracks in its own pattern, so no two pulls look the same, and there is nothing to sweep up afterward.

  • Yellow wax, thickest
  • Blue wax, thinnest
  • Pink wax outside
